These two get used interchangeably a lot, but they are not the same, they are similar, but also very different, let’s take a dive into today’s blog, you will see the difference as we read on!
What is Fashion?
According to Wikipedia “Fashion is a form of self-expression and autonomy at a particular period and place and in a specific context, of clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and body posture.”
Fashion is also an Industry, an industry of Clothes, Shoes, beauty, accessories.
What is Style?
We covered this in the last article but we will share it again.
Style is your personal touch with Fashion. Style is you! Style is your own way of interpreting Fashion.
FASHION VS STYLE
Fashion is an industry, while style is a lifestyle
Fashion is generalized while style is personalized
Fashion is influenced by trends, people, seasons, while style is influenced by personality, mood and self expressions
Fashion is constantly changing, very seasonal, not lasting, style evolves, it doesn’t totally change, it evolves.
Fashion is from outside to you, style is from inside you out
Fashion is general, but style is personal, for example, a particular print might be in trend, but its style is unique to individuals,
We will be using the current Adire print trend in Nigeria.
